Grading, Academic Year and Language of Instruction in UAE
The grading system in UAE is managed by the Ministry of Education. However, there are certain schools that have their own grading mechanism, or have the grading system of the country where the schools are affiliated to or share common standards with. Most of the universities and colleges in UAE have a grading system homogenous to the United States' grading system.

Language of Instruction
The language of instruction in UAE is Arabic. English is also used by many schools and institutions. The language of instruction in public schools in UAE is Arabic and English as a Second Language is accentuated. English is the primary language of instruction at the United Arab Emirates University, Zayed University and the Higher Colleges of Technology but pupils must be fluent in both Arabic and English.
The academic year in UAE starts from Septembers and goes on until June, with a break from the middle of June to the end of August. All the government schools, universities and government colleges in UAE have two yearly breaks, one in mid-December and other in end of March.
